For this fingerstyle blues piece we took @ GuitarNick ’s Blues #2 and extended it into a blues duo. In our version it consists of four parts: a blues theme and melody part, two blues solo parts and a finale. Suitable for guitar lessons. In this video we play two of the four parts. Solo by guitarist and guitar teacher Joachim Ribbentrop.
GuitarNick Blues #2 Duo Version No. 1
Version No. 2
You might recognize this blues duo, we have played it for you before (see above). Only this time it comes with a different solo and I’m playing the solo instead of Joachim. I never get tired of the happy and light swing it’s got to it, which makes you forget all your troubles. Our idea is for you to get guitar tabs for both versions and to play them as one piece: DUO – SOLO 1 – SOLO 2 – DUO. Have fun!
If you want to know who GuitarNick is, this is what his website says about him: „Nicola Mandorino, geologist and musician, was born in Taranto, Italy, in 1963. He started studying the piano 14 years of age and at the same time began teaching himself the guitar. After a short period of interest in classical guitar, he found that classical guitar has a close relationship to the jazz and fingerpicking styles. He learned by listening and studying the recordings of the great guitarists and by attending numerous courses and master classes.“
About his philosophy, GuitarNick states: „The goal of this website is to provide online guitar tabs to help people to learn how to play the guitar. Here you can learn to play in many different styles: basics for beginners, electric, acoustic flatpicking, fingerstyle guitar.“
